What are the requirements to open a BPI Trade account?
Basic requirements:
- Signed BPI Trade Client Account Information Form
- One valid ID
- An existing BPI Savings or Checking Account under client’s name – Client should have an existing record in BPI record. To open an account, you may visit any BPI branch nationwide or visit the BPI website for further instructions.
Additional requirements:
- Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) or National Statistics Office (NSO) – If BPI Trade account is to be opened with children below 18 years of age.
- Photocopy (back and front) of current school year’s ID signed by the head of the educational institution or equivalent as proof of identification and Birth Certificate issued by the PSA or NSO – for Filipino students without a valid government issued ID.
- W-8BEN Form – For foreign individuals with US indicia who were classified as Non-US Person.
- W-9 Form – For US person (US citizen including dual citizen or US resident including green card holder).

- Valid and unexpired Passport – for foreigners
- Alien Certificate Registration (ACR), except Tourist – for foreigners
- If no ACR, Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV), Alien Employment Permit (AEP), work permit or any other IDs issued by the Bureau of Immigration – for foreigners
- Local and international passports – for dual citizens
IMPORTANT NOTE: BPI Securities may secure additional requirements such as proof of financial capability, source of income and the like prior to the approval of account opening. Here are the samples of supporting documents based on the declared source of income:
- Employment/Salary: Certificate of Employment/ITR/Latest Pay slip
- Business: Business Permit/Latest AFS
- Remittances: Bank Statement/Remittance Slip for three (3) months
- Pension/Retirement: Senior Citizen ID/Bank Statement
- Investment/Savings: Statement of Account (SOA) or Certification from your existing Broker/Bank Statement
